Okay Pretty is an independent, woman-run business, and like you, we are switched-on enough to give a damn about the environment and our community. We believe that conscious creation, ethical intent, and sustainable practices lie directly alongside design.

"Okay Pretty is designed with women in mind, and the planet at heart."

As we move toward our sustainability goals, we realise that we are by no means perfect, but we are getting better day by day, stitch by stitch. And we will work, listen, learn, adapt, and change for the better throughout this journey.

Join us on this journey and read about our current processes below.

"90% of the fibres we use are sustainable."

Every single Okay Pretty swimwear piece is made from recycled material! Our unique, soft-as-silk fabric is woven with ECONYL®. ECONYL® is 100% regenerated nylon sourced from abandoned fishing nets and nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world.

“By using recycled material not only do we clean up the waste littering our planet, but we also reduce the production of new wasteful material”.

FYI: Recycled fibres have a 75% lower carbon footprint than virgin materials and use up to 90% less water.

Okay Pretty has always been a sustainable and ethically minded company. We focus on the welfare of our manufacturers and staff throughout our supply chain and have strict guidelines and expectations of our suppliers, and all contributors are required to complete our audit.

Okay Pretty is currently manufactured in a small, independently owned, family-run production house in China. The factory uses sustainable practices and materials and is committed to the ethical treatment of its staff. With less than 25 employees, the workplace is a friendly tight-knit community where everyone is cared for and respected.

Whilst this is our current manufacturing situation, we hope to grow and increase our production so that we can move production home to Australia.

Okay Pretty has partnered with Sendle, a third party shipping agent that ships 100% Carbon Neutral. This means that we offset all of the carbon emissions we create from freight and shipping. So far we have invested in conservation projects such as the reforestation of Boobera Native Forest. and the Protect Our Endangered Long-nosed Potoroo Project. Learn more.

Okay Pretty considers the outside just as much as the inside and we're currently working toward being entirely free of virgin plastics.

We use compostable and biodegradable postage bags where possible, replacing previous synthetic materials like petroleum-based plastics. These bags breakdown easily and can even be thrown into your home compost bin.

"Regular postage bags can take up to 1000 years to break down".

We've also decided to use compostable hygiene stickers! No plastic stickers here, ours are made from wood pulp.

Lastly, all Okay Pretty orders receive a complimentary wet-swim bag designed to keep your beach bag clean and dry post-swim. We encourage people to reuse these bags and suggest they be used as snack bags, cosmetics bags, gift bags etc. The next step in our packaging journey is to introduce recycled plastic wet-bags - watch this space.

It is our future goal to be completely produced locally and sustainably, free from virgin plastics and 100% carbon neutral. This is our goal and we are well on our way.
